The human body begins to take shape from the mother’s womb with the proliferation of cells and the increase in the number of cells, and this continues for a lifetime. From birth, all cells continue to multiply and people reach their mature height in the form of lengthening of the person, increasing his weight, etc. In any case where the integrity of the skin is disturbed (wound) in all organs and skin, the cells multiply and try to repair the deficiency in it. In short, the body has a complex system of self-renewal in a life cycle that passes from the mother’s womb until death.
There are three main causes of wound formation. 1. External factors (piercing, explosives, cutting tools, falling, hitting, crushing, etc.) 2. Causes affecting blood circulation (diabetes=diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, varicose veins, bodily fatigue such as constant standing) 3.Metabolic conditions that prevent cell proliferation and closing the gap (genetic or external factors that prevent cell proliferation such as protein, fat, glucose, amino acids, vitamins, catalysts, energy used as raw materials in the body or prevent cell work even though it is sufficient) most of them can heal spontaneously without any treatment in more than 90% of the causes listed in the 3 items above. In our lifetime, we have all injured our knees, arms, fingers and some places by falling or hitting some place in our childhood.
With a simple emollient cream, almost all of them are healed and we all carry a small or large scar on various parts of our body. In some chronic diseases such as diabetes = diabetes high cholesterol, cardiovascular diseases, wound healing will be difficult, and even a small scratch that needs to heal very simply can go to the cutting of the scratched area in diabetics. There are approximately 200 million diabetic patients in the world and 40% of them have wounds. Nearly half of the average 80 million diabetics struggle with serious wounds. In diabetic patients, wound healing is very difficult and it is often observed that the wound gets worse instead of healing. In the world, a foot or leg is amputated almost every 25 seconds. More than 90% of amputated feet are cut due to a chronic disease such as sugar.
We have said that the human body heals wounds without any treatment in its normal functioning without chronic diseases, but chronic diseases that prevent wound healing are frequently seen in our society. Although existing treatments and medical drugs facilitate wound healing, they do not eliminate it completely. Studies on wound treatment are carried out in every hospital in the world, in every institute and in every university. It is the dream of every doctor to contribute to the healing of the wound by increasing cell division. This success has not yet been achieved in the world, so on average, more than 20 million amputations (long organ cuts) take place every year in the world. No doctor and no patient want their feet, legs and toes to be amputated. In severe wounds, since the damage caused by the wound was greater than the damage caused by cutting, the doctors had to cut off the foot or finger in cases where they were helpless.
Starting from ancient civilizations to the present day, wound treatment has always attracted the attention of doctors. Contributing to the healing of a wound that is difficult to heal pleases every doctor, every pharmaceutical factory or every health care professional who uses alternative medicine because wound treatment is really difficult for both the patient and the doctor. The success created by the combination of all doctors, all the medics or all the health professionals who use the accumulations from ancient civilizations is far behind the self-treatment of the body. Our body does the actual treatment itself. As doctors or pharmacists, our goal is to support this work that the body does. We need to eliminate the 3 main substances that prevent wound healing. It would be a dream to wait for success by applying the same treatment to the wounds caused by different reasons in each wound patient. The cause of each wound must first be identified and the cause must be eliminated.
If the whole health community came together, it would not be able to form a single cell and put it in the wound area. We, as health professionals, as doctors, have to contribute to the incredible functioning of the body. All we can do is help the body. We have seen for years that we cannot heal that wound in diabetic feet or in cases where circulation is disturbed, giving various antibiotics or using various creams. With the advancement of technology, we have started to develop various treatment methods that will contribute to wound healing. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy or case treatment methods are a few of them. Despite all the developing treatment methods, there are millions of people in the world that we are helpless and unable to heal as all the doctors. The amputation preferred in the world can actually be corrected by eliminating the causes. Why would people have to lose their feet, legs and toes? The wound will already heal itself by eliminating the 3 main substances we have listed in the causes of the wound or by removing the damages caused to the body.
Waiting for hyperbaric oxygen or an antibiotic or a cream to be useful unless the necessary raw materials are supplied to a patient with blocked vessels will not please any patient or any health professional. It is absolutely wrong to apply a treatment with a certain result even in the most developed hospitals of the world.
It is our body itself that treats the wound. As doctors and health professionals, if we can contribute to the functioning of the body and the proliferation of cells, then we can all see together how wounds that seem impossible to heal, so in order to wait for wound healing, first of all, problems must be identified and those problems must be annihilated. In order for the body to do its job, treatments such as opening the vessels, providing blood, supplying oxygen, eliminating the infections that have occurred, etc. are required. This is the main element in wound healing. Despite all the technological developments, we cannot heal the wound (diabetic foot) in a diabetic patient and the incision means that we cannot detect the problem or we cannot produce the solution. We have done many studies on the wound alone for about 10 years and we have seen that the causes of wound formation differ in each patient, and we have observed that we cannot heal the wound (diabetic foot) without eliminating the negative causes. In chronic diseases such as diabetic foot, we found that there are problems in the capillaries that allow blood to reach the cells in the pedestrian area.
Using new treatment methods developed in medicine, we were able to support the cell to do its job. In all our R&D work, we have determined that all we have to do is to make the cell do its normal job. With the understanding of “If you eliminate the problem, the solution is easy”, we have achieved remarkable successes in wound treatments that seem impossible on our patients, and we have managed to save some limbs such as feet, legs and fingers that were decided to be cut off by the doctors’ committee or the doctors’ committee. We hope that from now on, more than 40 million feet, legs and fingers waiting to be cut off in the world will not be cut.
While sharing this information, we realized one more thing that there is no branch doctor like “wound treatment expertise” in the field of wound treatment, which is suffered by nearly 40 million people every year in the world. Millions of people do not know which doctor to go to. Diabetic foot patients, gangrene or wound patients caused by cardiovascular or other reasons cannot go to the doctors of branches such as internal medicine because of high sugar, orthopedics because the wound is formed in the foot, orthopedics, etc. because it is processed into the bone, and cannot do the wound treatment that requires multi-disciplinary (multiple treatment discipline). As a result, he has to lose any limb because he does not heal the wound (amputation). We believe that a “wound treatment expertise” branch should be established in all our works and studies should be carried out on this subject. We know that 10 years of work we do individually will not be able to keep up with millions of people suffering from it in the world. Our human-oriented work continues at the usual pace. In summary, in chronic wound treatment (non-healing wounds), all we need to do is not to go further than to support the normal flow of our body.
As soon as we provide the necessary support to the cell, which is the most advanced factory in the world, we can help as doctors in the treatment of almost all diseases. The same logic should be applied in the wounds caused by diabetic foot, gangrene, etc., which are the most difficult to treat. Setting out with this logic, Dr. Yusuf MARAŞLI has achieved great success in wound treatments with his studies.
